Blog Banner

Our first major project for the course was to create a blog banner, reflecting some of our own sketches and illustrations. The banner above shows the final product of my design. In the lead up to creating the banner we enhanced our photoshop skills and researched other successful design blogs. To start off I started to sketch some of the illustrations I wanted to incorporate into my design. I did illustrations of shells and starfishes as I wanted me blog to have a chilled out, beachy feel to it. I used a photograph as the background and I split it up varying the colours and effects of his section. I took the photo myself and it too reflects the beach theme of my blog. I chose to use the name Seychelles not only because I picked it randomly through a list of country names but it also related to the idea of shells. I enjoyed this unit alot and learnt alot of new skills in photoshop including varying the effects of images, using scanned illustrations and merging photos into the banner. I am very happy with the outcome of my design and I am looking forward to the future projects we'll be given!
